Humanitarian Chain is a French non-profit association (loi 1901) based in Cadalen, in the Tarn, between Gaillac, Albi and Graulhet. Its commitment: to help victims of major crises, regardless of origin or gender, so that they can live decently and regain their autonomy.
Who are we?
The association was born from a spontaneous action in response to the situation of Ukrainians, victims of a war in their country. Its first convoy, organised privately by its founders, left on 19 March 2022: it delivered donations to Ukraine and brought 15 refugees back to France. Today it brings together 23 partners, 128 members and 80 volunteers.
What the association does
- Convoys: Ukrainian refugees transported to France, donations delivered on the outward journey, from Occitanie to Lviv via Bamberg.
- Fundraising: €55,000 and more than 200 m³ of donations sent to Ukraine with the Alliance Occitanie Ukraine (medical equipment, hygiene products, food, warm clothing).
- Accommodation and housing: support for families looking for host accommodation, then for a rental home.
- Employment: a socio-professional assessment, the search for employers, an interpreter at interviews.
- Information: practical guides for Ukrainian refugees and their hosts, in French, English and Ukrainian.
