BRIGHT Association is a refugee-led nonprofit organisation based in Efoulan, Yaoundé, Cameroon. It was registered with the Mfoundi Division on 17 December 2020 (receipt of declaration no. 000002341/RDA/J06/A2/SAAJP/BAPP), and its registration was amended on 21 April 2026 (no. 000635/ARDA/J06/ALPAS/APPB).
Its mission: refugee-led, BRIGHT helps displaced and vulnerable people in Cameroon take charge of their lives. Its motto is "Nothing for us without us": refugees serve on its executive committee and shape every programme.
Who BRIGHT serves
Refugees, internally displaced people, migrants, asylum seekers, orphans and abandoned children, older people and persons with special needs.
One door, six paths
BRIGHT runs six departments, described as one refugee-led journey "from healing to learning, earning and leading":
- BRIGHT Education: Education Mentorship, from school fees to university applications.
- BRIGHT Health: Psychosocial Care, counselling that helps people heal from trauma.
- BRIGHT Sport: the Tennis Programme, with the Tennis Club of Yaoundé.
- BRIGHT Art and Culture: the Lens on Life Bright Lab, photography, film and writing for change.
- BRIGHT Technology and Innovation: the BRIGHT Code Lab, coding courses, bootcamps and hackathons.
- BRIGHT Environment: Green Hands Enterprise, climate action that creates income.
In numbers
- 300 people reached since 2020 through education, vocational training and psychosocial support.
- A refugee-led executive bureau of 18, elected in February 2026.
- 85% of every donation goes to programmes, 10% to administration and 5% to fundraising.
