Its home page calls it "the leading website builder", and several of its localized sites present it as the first hybrid website builder: a site can be laid out by hand in a drag-and-drop editor, generated in minutes with AI or started from a template, and every detail stays editable. The company says it has more than 300 million users in 190 countries and offices in twelve countries.

Wix addresses entrepreneurs, small businesses, freelancers, agencies and developers. Building and publishing a site costs nothing and asks for no credit card: the free site lives at a wixsite.com address, is hosted by Wix and shows Wix ads. Paid Premium plans connect a custom domain, remove the ads and open the business features, from online selling to bookings and payments.
