The service has existed since 2021, the year the craft took a name and the epovest.com domain was registered: an online reputation service, then reserved for large accounts and VIP clients, with methods built on artificial intelligence. Since 2026, the app opens the same method to everyone.

The craft behind both goes back further. Simon Vasconcelos Lee put his first websites online in 2002 while studying mathematics in Paris, and made a trade of what he learned there: improving his clients' visibility on the Internet, and watching over what is said about them. Online reputation management, before the phrase was everywhere.

The name comes from the Czech *pověst*, one word that means both legend and reputation. Add an e for the online world: e-pověst, Epovest.
